Dear Hillary,

Thu Feb 14, 2008 at 12:28:44 PM PDT

Hi, I hope everything is going well with you. It has been a long time since we last chatted.

It sounds like you are holding up under the stress of running your campaign to be the potential Democratic Party nominee for President. I bet that's a lot of weight to have on your shoulders and I’m sure that it’s pretty stressful, I can’t even imagine. I did hear that you've broken down a couple times, you really got to get that under control. I'm an emotional guy myself, but I don't like the idea of my Commander-in-Chief crying on my TV -- it just doesn't work for me and it makes you look kinda weak. Don't get me wrong, I'm not saying you're weak; it's just the image thingy. The rule of thumb that I live by is to not cry when there are cameras around – this has always seemed to work for me.

Between me and you -- what doesn’t work is having my wife tell everyone that I cry every time I watch Jerry Maguire -- no shit, every time. It’s the "You're my ambassador of quawn" part at the end that gets me. Well, that and "You had me at hello", that kind of tugs at my heart strings too; don’t tell anyone though.

Breaking - Senate Ethics Committee responds to Larry Craig

Wed Feb 13, 2008 at 04:44:42 PM PDT

And now to pull you away from your regularly scheduled Obama and Hillary debates -- some breaking news concerning Larry Craig's airport debacle.

Just breaking from the Idaho Statesman

WASHINGTON -- The Senate Ethics Committee said Wednesday that Idaho Sen. Larry Craig acted improperly in connection with a men’s room sex sting last year.

In a letter to the Republican senator, the ethics panel said Craig’s attempt to withdraw his guilty plea after his June arrest at a Minneapolis airport was an effort to evade legal consequences of his own actions.

Craig’s actions brought discredit on the Senate, the letter said.

The six members of committee "three Democrats and three Republicans -- told Craig they believed he "committed the offense to which you pled guilty" and that "you entered your plea knowingly, voluntarily and intelligently."

Fox News Crew Shot At (On Live TV)

Thu Jul 13, 2006 at 09:38:28 AM PDT

David Lee Miller of Fox News was doing a report this morning when Israeli troops fired on him for revealing their positions.

Gee, you'd think that they learned their lesson after the whole Geraldo incident during the initial phase of the Iraq war.

Oh, wait - did I just say "Fox News" and "learn"?

Editor Considers Dropping Coulter. Help Him Decide

Thu Jul 06, 2006 at 09:18:45 AM PDT

...And it's not for the recent claims of plagiarism.

The editorial page editor of the Shreveport Times, Craig Durrett, is considering dropping Coulter:

We have, in recent history, discussed whether it was time to cycle out Coulter, based more on whether she brings anything constructive to the table regarding ideas and issues.

Heh.

Note that they are only in the considering stage of deciding whether or not to bag (no pun intended) Coulter. Let's help the editor come to a conclusion and maybe, just maybe, this snowball will start rolling...

Ana Marie Cox - Inside the Cult of Kos

Dearest Wonkette, aka Ana Marie Cox has an article in Time Magazine on Daily Kos.com and she will also be filing dispatches from the Yearly Kos Convention.

"If I cared what commenters said, I'd kill myself." In the high-octane non-stop flame war that is the political blogosphere, Markos Moulitsas Zuniga knows how to get attention. He's kidding, of course. We're talking about the rhetorical excesses that can spill out of the impassioned debate that takes place on his creation, DailyKos.com, the world's most popular political blog.

Preemptive Arguments

Mon May 22, 2006 at 02:42:26 PM PDT

Once again, prepare for Democrats to be kicked back into a corner by the very essence of our goals and our own arguments. This fall, before the election, maybe a month before or perhaps even a day before election day the American people are going to see this:

You are going to see troops exiting airplanes to be welcomed by families and communities proudly waving flags and exclaiming victory, er, uh, Mission Accomplished.

New York Times headline October 12th 2006:
Troops Coming Home. Victory Is Ours!

Mission Accomplished Part Deux is right after the fold.

MSNBC, Bush, And that Damned Perch.

You all know the story, so I won't be rehashing that for ya, but you might just get a kick out of MSNBC's poll on the subject:

One More Nodding Head...

Thu Mar 23, 2006 at 07:04:44 AM PDT

:Last week President Bush nominated the Governor of Idaho; Dirk Kempthorne as the Secretary of the Interior. A post that is responsible for America's wildlife refuges, National Park System and millions of acres of public land. An appointment long coming, Dirk has been rumored for several Bush Administration posts over the past couple of years, most notably; head of the EPA.

By golly, that trip Governor Kempthorne invited President Bush on to Idaho's own Tamarack Resort must have sealed the deal. Cause wouldn't ya know it, first position to come open since said trip, and Kempthorne gets the nod.

The Misguided Culture of Corruption...

Wed Oct 19, 2005 at 07:47:10 AM PDT

Sitting on the verge of our Vice President possibly being indicted for conspiracy or even perhaps treason, I sit back and wonder; what ever happened to the Republicans of yesteryear? Where'd they go? Where are the citizens who claim to have a core value set of;

  1. Fiscal Responsibility
  2. Small Government
  3. Personal Responsibly
Where'd they all go? What is taking so long for those still blinded by the hope of not allowing two men to have sex together to get with the program?

At a time when our budget has gone from a record surplus to a record deficit, where are the fiscal conservatives?

At a time when our government is at the largest it has ever been; where are the advocates of small government?

At a time when religious zealots are intruding the walls of the buildings that govern this great nation; where are the Republicans calling for government to stay out of our personal lives?

At a time when reasons for war are manufactured pre-invasion, and billions going to private companies in the way of no-bid contracts; where are the Republican advocates of personal responsibility?
